Pasture Raised Chicken

Pasture Raised Broilers

Broilers are fed certified organic feed from a farm and feed mill in Armstrong.

Birds have access to a diversity of forage and insects, clean water and sunshine, which leads to healthier birds and more flavorful meat.

Meat birds arrive at the farm as fluffy day old chicks, and are processed 8 to 9 weeks later at a government inspected facility in Pritchard.

Once they are feathered up and hardy enough to endure the daily temperature fluctuations of our climate, typically 3 to 4 weeks of age, they are moved into portable houses and raised free range on our pastures.

In the pasture

The broilers have portable houses for shade and shelter that are moved daily onto clean grass.

We utilize a day range system, where birds are locked up in their houses at night, and let out to free range during the day.  This keeps the birds safe from predators, and provides more exercise and access to pasture. It also allows us to distribute their manure where it is needed most.
